The Bentway

Jane led WalkShops and chaired the naming committee for this public space under the Gardiner Expressway in Toronto.

The Bentway is a unique public space that transforms 1.75 km underneath Toronto’s Gardiner Expressway into a new gathering place.

The Dept planned and led WalkShops showcasing the design opportunities and effective collaborations unfolding in this interstitial urban space. Jane also chaired the Naming Committee that selected a place name for the new public space drawn from thousands of suggestions made by the public.
